Cancellation Policy

Last updated: June 2026 · Applies to all dharamshala and tour bookings on DharamStay.

We understand that pilgrimage plans can change. Please read our cancellation terms carefully before booking. For any questions, WhatsApp us at +91 99999 99999.

1. Cancellation by Guest

  • Cancellations made 7 or more days before the check-in date: Full refund of the amount paid (minus payment gateway charges of up to 2%).
  • Cancellations made 3–6 days before the check-in date: 50% refund of the total booking amount.
  • Cancellations made less than 3 days before the check-in date: No refund. The full booking amount will be forfeited.
  • No-show (failure to arrive on the check-in date without prior notice): No refund.

2. How to Cancel

  • To cancel your booking, contact us via WhatsApp at +91 99999 99999 with your booking reference number (starting with DS-).
  • Cancellations must be requested by the primary guest whose name appears on the booking.
  • Verbal or in-person cancellations are not accepted. All cancellations must be made via WhatsApp or email at hello@dharamstay.in.

3. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 5–7 business days from the date of cancellation confirmation.
  • Refunds are credited to the original payment source (UPI, bank account, or card) used at the time of booking.
  • DharamStay is not responsible for delays caused by the payment gateway or your bank.

4. Cancellation by DharamStay

  • In exceptional circumstances (natural calamity, force majeure, property unavailability), DharamStay may cancel your booking.
  • In such cases, you will receive a full refund of the amount paid within 5–7 business days.
  • DharamStay will attempt to offer an alternative property of similar or higher standard in the same area at no extra cost.

5. Modifications to Booking

  • Date changes are subject to availability and must be requested at least 3 days before the original check-in date.
  • Room type upgrades are subject to availability and any price difference is payable by the guest.
  • Reducing the number of nights after check-in is not eligible for a refund.

6. Special Circumstances

  • During Kanwar Yatra, Kumbh Mela, Navratri, and other peak pilgrimage seasons, all bookings are non-refundable once confirmed.
  • Group bookings (5 or more rooms) have a separate cancellation policy. Please contact us before booking for group-specific terms.

7. Dispute Resolution

  • In case of a dispute, please contact us at hello@dharamstay.in. We aim to resolve all disputes within 7 business days.
  • This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any unresolved disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
